that Taiwan will not start a war with China. He made this statement amid an
increase in tension between Taiwan and its Neighbour China.
Military tensions
with China are at their worst in more than 40 years Chu said last week. He also
added that China claims Taiwan is their territory and that China will be
capable of a full-scale invasion by 2025.
In this month alone,
information available shows that china mounted four consecutive days of mass
Air force incursions into Taiwan's Air defense identification zone. It all
started on October 1st when China flew 77 planes into the Taiwanese
Identification Zone.
China Aircraft have
stayed well from Taiwan`s airspace and no shots have been fired. But Taiwan a

not be advanced hurriedly.
In a parliament
meeting, Chu spoke to the parliament that “What is clearest is that the Republic of China absolutely will not
start or set off a war, but if there are movements we will meet the enemy full-on,"
In a report given to the parliament ahead of
chu`s appearance, The Taiwan defense ministry warned China of strong countermeasures
if its forces got close to the Island.
While responding to
this, China called its military activities “just” a move to protect peace and
stability and again blamed Taiwan`s collusion with foreign forces a veiled reference
to the united states-for sowing tension.
On Wednesday,
October 13th, China Washington's embassy reported that it filed a
complaint to the US government about a meeting between Taiwan`s de facto
ambassador to the US and senior US diplomats and the Taiwan army commander Hsu
Yen-pu to the united states.
In a statement, it
said that "The U.S. should not fantasize (about) seeking China's support
and cooperation while wantonly challenging China's red line on the Taiwan
question,"
